Awesome Rant About Working for Disney
I grew up in Orange, CA and hence perpetually knew someone working for Disney Land. I've ridden Space Mountain more times than I can count. I've heard a lot of really great stories about life 'on and offstage' but this guy knows how to spin a tale. While I'm at it, here's the Venture Bros Episode 'The Incredible Mr. Brisby' The single greatest parody I've ever seen of life in mouse ears at it captures perfectly the crazy corporate cultish high weirdness of the Disney Empire.

Second Rain of Dead Birds
"Around 500 dead birds have fallen from the sky in Louisiana, found scattered along a quarter-mile portion of highway in Point Coupee Parish, the AP reports. The discovery is approximately 300 miles south of Beebe, Arkansas, where just days earlier thousands of the same species of birds also fell from the sky."
I can't decide whether this is something out of White Noise
or The Book of the Damned
(By the by, I would heartily recommend both these books as mind blowing pieces of work that have a good chance of blowing your mind. That said, they are both a pain in the arse to read. My book club almost murdered me for picking White Noise as my selection and reading Fort in particular is like holding your nose to a grindstone built of newspaper clippings. BotD is an interesting grindstone to be sure, but that only offers so much comfort. As usual, you can get the books cheap on amazon.)
